The United States Senate has voted to appoint Tulsi Gabbard as the country’s Director of National Intelligence . In this position, she will oversee 18 intelligence agencies with a budget of about $100 billion and will be President Donald Trump’s top adviser on intelligence matters.
According to CNN , Gabbard’s candidacy was supported by 52 senators, 48 voted against. It is noteworthy that a Republican joined the Democrats who opposed this appointment. We are talking about Senator Mitch McConnell.
“The nation should not have to worry that the intelligence assessments the president receives are tainted by a Director of National Intelligence with a history of alarming errors in judgment,” the senator said.
