US President Donald Trump said that the United States does not use the Strait of Hormuz, so it should be protected by those countries that need it.
The incumbent leader of the White House said this in a publication on his Truth Social network.
The American President said that Washington is close to achieving all its goals in the operation against Iran, which include the complete destruction of the Iranian missile potential and the country’s defense industrial base, as well as the elimination of their naval and air forces.
Among other things, the US goal is to never allow Iran “even close to a nuclear potential” and to ensure the protection of American allies in the region, the President added.
In this context, Trump said that the protection of the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively blocked by Iran since the beginning of the war, is the task of the countries that use this passage. And the United States, according to him, is not doing this.
“The Strait of Hormuz will have to be protected and controlled, if necessary, by other countries that use it – the United States does not! If asked, we will assist these countries in their efforts in Hormuz, but that should not be necessary when the threat from Iran is eliminated,” the White House leader said.
He added that the operation to unblock the strait would be “easy.”
