US Defense Secretary Proudly Ends ‘Biden Act’ That Turns Out to Be Trump’s

Pete Hegseth has made another mistake. The US Secretary of Defense has scrapped a “hated” initiative that he said was introduced by President Joe Biden. It turned out to be a plan by President Donald Trump.

Hegseth announced that the Pentagon is ending an initiative that promotes women’s contributions to national security sectors, signed into law by Trump in 2017 during his first term.

On Tuesday, Hegseth proudly killed the law, dismissing it as “another woke Biden initiative” that distracts the U.S. military from its core mission of “fighting war,” ignoring the fact that the law was introduced by Trump.

Hegseth later posted another message on X , admitting that the law was indeed enacted in 2017. But he said the Biden administration subsequently “twisted and weaponized” the law, but provided no evidence for this.

The blunder is particularly painful because the bill was supported by both Democrats and Republicans. Officials from the current Trump administration, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, also supported the bill at the time.

Since taking office more than three months ago, Hegseth has declared war on diversity initiatives at his department and within the US military. His work has so far been overshadowed by the so-called Signalgate scandal and unrest at his department. You can read more about this in the article below.
