The United States allowed the Ukrainian army to use Western weapons to strike at the Crimea , if Kiev deems it necessary.

Neither the EU countries nor the United States consider Crimea to be Russian territory.

On one hand I think you’re spot on and it would scare the crap out of the Moskali and Kremlinals but on the other hand Vladolf would LOVE to have the US more involved and “striking Russian territory” so that he could say Russia was fighting with the US not Ukraine.
