Russian sources reported on August 9 that Ukrainian troops have allegedly advanced further east in Kursk Oblast, but are likely no longer operating that far north or west. In general, as analysts noted, the vast majority of Russian messages about the Kursk region from August 9 do not agree with previous statements that mobile “Ukrainian groups” operate at a depth of more than 20 kilometers in the Kursk region.
