Russian sources reported on August 9 that Ukrainian troops have allegedly advanced further east in Kursk Oblast, but are likely no longer operating that far north or west. They announced another cross-border incursion to the northeast of the city of Sumy, an advance towards Kucherov, and also east to Plekhovo, southeast of Sudja.
Analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War ( ISW ) drew attention to this. Geolocated footage released on August 9 is said to indicate that forces invading the region have recently been active:
– to the west of Sudja, within the settlement;
– to the north of Sudja near Kozachoa Lockna;
– to the northeast of Leonidovo and in Dmytriukiv.
At the same time, Russian media bloggers continued to make contradictory statements about “Ukrainian positions” in Sudja: some claimed that Ukrainian forces were not operating there, others said that they could not do so freely, and others said that the specified territory was a disputed “gray zone” in general.

In addition, the propagandists claimed that the enemy was allegedly operating northeast of Sudja near Martynivka; to the north of Sudja in the area of Drugo Knyazho, Ivnytsia, Zaoleshenka, Russkyi Porechia (16 km from the international border); and to the west of Sudja near Goncharivka.
In general, as analysts noted, the vast majority of Russian messages about the Kursk region from August 9 do not agree with previous statements that mobile “Ukrainian groups” operate at a depth of more than 20 kilometers in the Kursk region.
At the same time, it is worth noting that the Ukrainian side has not yet officially commented on the events in the Kursk region of Russia.
As reported by OBOZ.UA:
– On the night of August 10, a “regime of counter-terrorist operation” was introduced in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions. It began to operate at midnight and is associated with hostilities in the Kursk region.
– Swedish experts believe that the operation in the Kursk region and the advance through Russian territory are changing the dynamics of the war. Ukraine is putting pressure on Moscow, which has come as a surprise to both the enemy and partners. Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is confused and doesn’t know how to react.

“Ukraine is putting pressure on Moscow, which has come as a surprise to both the enemy and partners. Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin is confused and doesn’t know how to react.”
It’s quite likely that this has surprised the entire globe. And the little gutter rat in muscovy doesn’t have many options. With this operation, Ukraine managed to point the proverbial gun at his narrow forehead.
This so amazing. I don’t care if you’re Ukrainian, Ukrainian diaspora, , Ukrainian citizens living abroad including those who have run from their country for whatever reason, or just a citizen of the world shocked by the Moskali genocide, this operation has shown the qualities of Ukrainian people in their ingenuity, tenaciousness, bravery, courage, love of their heritage, language, land and more importantly always trying to minimize casualties in this war. So proud to have Ukrainian blood and DNA. Perhaps now Ukraine will be recognized for what it is…a great and wonderful country and being a beacon for democracy. So proud to have Ukrainian blood and DNA in my system. Now more than ever I’m ashamed I haven’t done more beginning in 1992.
Hear, hear!
Слава Україні!
Героям слава!
