Up to 13,000 servicemen have died in Ukraine since February 24 .

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said this on Channel 24, commenting on the words of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that the losses of the Ukrainian army amount to 100,000 soldiers.

According to Podoliak, the president of the EC was wrong, and “it’s obvious, that’s why they deleted this video, removed these numbers.

“We have official estimates from the General Staff, there are official estimates from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. And they range from 10 to 12.5-13 thousand dead. That is, we are openly talking about the number of dead,” Podolyak emphasized.

According to him, the Armed Forces have “more casualties due to injuries”.

Podoliak added that if we talk about victims among the civilian population, there are much more than the 20,000 mentioned by von der Leyen. According to him, Russia is at war with the civilian population, especially in the occupied territories, so there are a lot of mass burials and executions.

Ursula von der Leyen’s statement about Ukraine’s losses

On November 30, EC President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine “brought death, devastation and untold suffering.” At the same time, she noted that “more than 20,000 civilians and 100,000 military personnel died in Ukraine.”

Later, the European Commission admitted that they had made a mistake and removed this information .
