The world’s largest transport aircraft An-225 Mriya will take part in the air parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 24.
The main pilot of the airliner Dmitry Antonov showed how the pilots are preparing for the event.
The video from the parade rehearsal was filmed from cameras installed on both sides of the stabilizer, thanks to which you can see how the giant aircraft rises into the sky, hides the landing gear, and how the mechanization of its wing changes during the flight.
Also on the footage you can see how the An-225 “sat down on the tail” of the aircraft flying in front, and at the end of the video its landing approach to the Gostomel airport is shown.
The largest transport aircraft in the world, the An-225 Mriya, will take part in the parade dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, which will be held on August 24 in Kiev.

Fantastic video with some amazing camera work.
Except they speak the language of the invaders……I need a shower after listening to that.
I saw it flying over Kyiv the other day and it was the first time I’ve ever seen it. It was an awesome sight!
Awesome! I’ve never seen it yet. Are you going to hook up with Foccusser and have him show you around Facts? You guys can put some pics up on our private channel, that would be cool.
I would like it very much to meet foccusser! Although, I’ve been quite busy since my arrival. We’ve just come back from the Madian, seeing the parade there. It was very impressive and I even had a feeling of patriotism!
Well done and good luck. Have fun in Chernivtsi.
Thanks, Red. We certainly will. 👍
Any time Facts. The parade looked great, although we didn’t go, the traffic would have been a nightmare.
Indeed, it was a nightmare. Many streets were blocked off and the Metro didn’t stop at the Maidan station. Luckily, we don’t live all that far away from the Maidan … over in Podil.
Nice area Podil, close to all the sites in Kyiv, and plenty of great restaurants.
Yes, we like it here very much. And, it’s not so hilly like some other parts. 😁
You can’t live in Podil without climbing up Volodymyr’s Descent. 😀
That’s true. As a matter of fact, we went up that way today and then back down. Our usual way though is Andrevsky Descent. That’s where my favorite church is in Kyiv.
