Unfortunately, it seems that I was right

Unfortunately, it seems that I was right.

Long before the US elections, I said that if Trump is elected, the US administration will:
1) Stop military aid to Ukraine.
2) Push Ukraine to give up its territory.
3) Block Ukraine from entering NATO.

Yesterday, the Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth officially stated:

  • Ukraine should not rely on the US military funding.
  • Ukraine must give up its territories.
  • No NATO membership for Ukraine.

Later this week, Keith Kellogg, US Special Envoy for Ukraine and russia, will be visiting Ukraine. I am afraid he will reiterate the same position.

…………..

Journalist: Do you view Ukraine as an equal member of the peace process?

Trump: That’s an interesting question. I think they have to make peace… That was not a good war to go into. They have to make peace.

Three points:

  1. It is not “an interesting question.” Ukrainians are the ones fighting the war. So of course they are an equal member of the peace process.
  2. Ukraine didn’t “go into war.” They didn’t start the war. They are defending their right to exist.
  3. Ukraine wants “peace” more than anyone else. But surrendering parts of Ukraine to russia is not peace.

………

Trump had a conversation with President Zelenskyy. There was no acknowledgment of Ukrainian bravery, no flattery, just plain distributional dialogue. And at the end, Trump said “God bless the people of Russia and Ukraine!”

One comment

  1. If Ukraine is lucky (for once), she will keep 80% of her land and remain a parliamentary democracy entirely independent of the satanically evil regime next door.
But there are no guarantees. Not a figure of speech, a literal fact.
Assuming that putler and Zel sign up to what is a rerun of Kellogg “America First”; and even that seems doubtful, Ukraine will remain at risk of attack indefinitely
Zel will likely lose the election, which is what trumputler wants and the outcome of that is impossible to predict.
Should Zel find it impossible to sign the “Captain Cornflake peace formula”, then Trump could well say : “oh well, I tried. I wash my hands of the whole matter and leave it to Ukraine and Europe to deal with it, while I get on with more important matters, such as the annexation of Greenland, the Panama Canal and Canada.”
