Ukrzaliznytsia launches a new international route: what is known

The night train Prague – Chop will depart from Prague at 21:52, from Kosice – this is Slovakia – at 06:38 am and arrive in Chop at 10:35.

JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” launches a new international route Prague – Chop. According to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the first flight will depart from Prague on March 27.

“An international route is being launched in cooperation with the Czech RegioJet. It will connect the capital of the Czech Republic with the Ukrainian border town of Chop, which is an important railway hub connecting Ukraine and the EU. To make it easier for residents of neighboring regions to get to Chop, Ukrzaliznytsia will provide connecting routes and assign special transfer train No. 345/346 Chernivtsi – Chop – Uzhgorod,” the department said.

It is noted that the night train Prague – Chop will depart from Prague at 21:52, from Kosice – this is Slovakia – at 06:38 am and arrive in Chop at 10:35. In the opposite direction, departure from Chop at 17:35, from Kosice at 21:37, arrival in Prague at 05:46 the next day.

The ministry also informed that the train has carriages with seats, as well as sleeping places. The cost of tickets depends on the day of travel and on average is about 1060 UAH per seat or 1700 UAH per sleeping place. You can purchase tickets on the carrier’s website.

“And transfer train No. 345/346 Chernivtsi – Chop – Uzhgorod will depart from Chernivtsi daily at 05:30, proceed through Ivano-Frankivsk, Stryi, Mukachevo, Chop, and arrive in Uzhgorod at 17:20. In the opposite direction, departure from Uzhgorod at 11:05. Tickets for this train will soon be available in the application and chat bots of Ukrzaliznytsia, on the website and at station ticket offices,” the message says.

It is expected that the new Prague flight will complement the already popular connecting route from the Czech Republic through the Polish Przemysl station.

On March 18, Ukrzaliznytsia began selling tickets online for trains on the Ukraine-Austria route. From now on, passengers have the following options for purchasing tickets in the specified message: “Kyiv – Vienna”: tickets will be available only online in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application with account verification through Diyu.Pidpis; “Chop – Vienna”: online in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application and at international ticket offices at train stations.

At the next stage, tickets will also become available online for the “Ukraine – Hungary” service for trains traveling through the territory of a neighboring country in transit to Austria, that is, “Kiev – Budapest – Vienna” and “Chop – Budapest – Vienna”.
