The Ukrainian people will “never forgive” Russia for invading their country and committing numerous war crimes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on March 31.

The president made the statement during a speech in Bucha, on the third anniversary of the town’s liberation from Russian occupation. The event was also attended by a delegation of European MPs. Bucha has become the symbol of Russia’s barbaric aggression against Ukraine, with Russian troops killing hundreds of unarmed civilians during its weeks-long occupation in early 2022.

“We will not forgive Russian crimes or this war because forgiveness would mean accepting that the current Russian system has a right to exist and expand at the expense of other peoples—a system that feeds on human suffering,” Zelenskyy said.

“We will undoubtedly defend Ukraine, and we must restore justice. Russia must be held accountable for this war.”

He added that Ukraine and its citizens “remember every Russian strike.”

“We remember what the Russian occupiers did in Bucha, Yahidne, and Mariupol,” the president continued.

“Everyone sees what happened to Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Vuhledar, and many other towns and villages that have essentially ceased to exist. Nothing remains but ruins—the inevitable result when the Russian flag is raised. We remember every Russian strike. We remember how they executed our captured soldiers in Olenivka and tormented detainees in a detention center in Donetsk that came to symbolize the ‘Russian world.”

“Among the most powerful symbols of the Russian system and its war against Ukraine are the graves of ordinary people in the yards of their homes. This will never be forgotten. These man-made disasters and crimes are the work not only of the Russian state but also of individual occupiers, each with a name.”

Ukrainian defeat far from inevitable, EUCOM commander says

Gen. Christopher Cavoli, head of the United States European Command (EUCOM), rejected claims that Ukraine’s defeat on the battlefield is inevitable during a Senate hearing on April 3.

“In war, nothing is inevitable, and the Ukrainians are now in very strong defensive positions,” said Cavoli.

“They are slowly improving their ability to generate force and strengthen those positions. Sitting here, it’s hard to imagine a large-scale Ukrainian offensive that would liberate every square inch of Ukraine, but it’s just as hard to imagine Ukraine falling apart and losing in this conflict. I don’t think Ukrainian defeat is inevitable.”

The general also warned senators against any cut in U.S. arms shipments or intelligence sharing that are vital to Kyiv’s military operations.

“Obviously, such measures would quickly and detrimentally affect their ability to fight,” he said.

Cavoli noted that Ukraine “depends on the United States” for air and missile defense.

“If the Ukrainians couldn’t receive our intelligence, it would be hard for them to hit targets, especially deep operational objectives like command posts and logistics areas,” he added.

    Well said Zel.
Somehow, he always finds the right words.

  2. I’d rather hear someone important say :

“We will ensure that russian defeat is inevitable.”

The putinaZis believe they are winning. They don’t care if they lose millions of their subhuman filth in the process and are perfectly happy to murder millions of Ukrainian children.
    Because they are fucking fiends.

To retake and hold their land, Ukraine needs:
    2 million combat troops
    All the €300 billion
    A nuclear deterrent
Long range fires in huge numbers
Sufficient firepower to take out 3000 orcs each and every day.

  3. You cannot forgive a country in which even women and grannies support the bloodthirsty ghoul’s war, slaughtering Ukrainians every day and night and committing war crimes equal to the Nazis.
