Explosions have been heard in Ryazan, Russia, for the second time in the past few days at night. Local residents wrote on social media about the drone attack and the work of Russian air defense, and also published footage of a fire at the refinery, which had already been hit two days ago.

Local authorities, together with the Russian Defense Ministry, announced the “destruction of the UAV” and the absence of casualties, while fire engines rushed to the oil refinery, and the road to the enterprise was blocked.

Local media outlets began reporting on the explosions in Ryazan around midnight on January 26.

“At night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine again attacked Ryazan and the refinery located there. Local residents heard the work of air defense and the destruction of several UAVs,” writes one of the Telegram channels.

Many videos of a fire “in the direction of the refinery” appeared on the Internet, the authors of which, commenting on what happened, noted the force of the explosions, which triggered the car alarm, as well as what flew precisely to the aforementioned plant.

Towards morning, local media outlets began reporting that after the nighttime drone attack on Ryazan, fire trucks were on duty around the oil refinery, and the road to it was blocked.

“Restrictions have been introduced from the direction of Slavyansky Prospekt. Traffic police officers are working on site,” stated one of the Ryazan Telegram channels.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, is suggesting that the people of Ryazan believe his statements, not their own eyes. According to the official, “unmanned aerial vehicles have been destroyed by air defense and electronic warfare systems over the territory of the Ryazan region.”

“According to preliminary information, there are no victims, material damage is being assessed. All emergency services are working,” Malkov managed to describe what happened, without mentioning the probable arrival.

The Russian Defense Ministry, as usual, did not mention any arrivals either. They stated that during the night, Russian air defense allegedly destroyed 15 drones: eight over the Ryazan region, six over the Kursk region, and one over the Belgorod region.

Recall, on the night of January 24, Russians complained about explosions in the Moscow region, Kursk, Ryazan, and Bryansk. After some time, the SBU confirmed the attack on the Ryazan refinery.

It is one of the largest in Russia and is capable of processing 17 million tons of oil per year. The nearby Ryazan oil pumping station and the Ryazan CHP were also hit.
