December 14: For the first time in history, the North Korean army launched a massive attack in Europe on Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) positions near the city of Sudzha.
On December 14, soldiers of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade and the 95th Air Assault Brigade of the UAF, defending the demilitarized zone near the village of Mala Loknya in the Sudzhansky district of Kursk Oblast, repelled a large-scale attack by North Korean troops supported by the Russian army.
According to sources at Censor.net, over 200 enemy soldiers advanced in groups from multiple directions, using the terrain to attempt to seize a wooded area near Mala Loknya. Russian forces provided heavy fire support, and Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems actively targeted Ukrainian drones, operating from both ground stations and possibly Mi-8TPR EW helicopters.
Despite suffering losses, enemy assault groups pressed forward relentlessly, ignoring point-blank fire and strikes by Ukrainian weapons. This tactic resembled the “human wave” strategy used by North Korean and Chinese forces during the Korean War of 1950–1953.
The battle was intense. The enemy reached Ukrainian positions, relying on their physical training, rapid movement, and disregard for casualties. No evacuation of their wounded or dead was attempted during the assault.
North Korean forces managed to capture several trenches in the wooded area, but Ukrainian defenses held firm overall, and UAF troops carried out several successful counterattacks to regain control.
Throughout the battle, the enemy sustained significant casualties. Video footage in the possession of the Ukrainian command shows dozens of North Korean soldiers’ bodies. There is no information yet on whether any prisoners were captured. Documents taken from the dead have also been secured, with hopes of releasing close-up photos and videos soon.
Preliminary data suggests that the attack was carried out by an entire North Korean battalion with a high level of combat training and coordination.
However, Ukrainian soldiers once again demonstrated that, with proper organization and leadership, they can defeat a numerically superior enemy.
On December 10, North Korean forces reportedly attacked near the village of Plekhovo in the Kursk region, according to Russian sources. The December 14 assault on positions near Mala Loknya marks a significant escalation. It appears that the Russian command intends to continue deploying fresh waves of North Korean “cannon fodder” in future attacks.
Ukrainian troops in the area urgently need maximum support with drones and ammunition to stop the “human wave” assaults of Russian and North Korean infantry.

On December 14, Russian forces launched a coordinated attack on European city Siversk from three directions, deploying over 400 assault criminals, up to 30 armored vehicles, 13 buggies, and 60 motorcycles, with substantial artillery and drone support. This was one of the largest and most organized assaults on Siversk since the battles for the city began in 2022.
The Russian command aimed to penetrate Ukrainian front-line positions and establish a foothold 2–3 kilometers deep to cut off our forward units and disrupt the continuous defense line. The assault was meticulously prepared, emphasizing coordination among assault units, communication, electronic warfare support, and extensive drone usage. The enemy acted simultaneously to disperse Ukrainian artillery fire around Siversk.
Despite the intensity of the battle and the enemy’s disregard for losses, Ukrainian forces detected the assault groups early, inflicting personnel and equipment losses during their approach. Although Russian assault units managed to wedge into Ukrainian battle formations at four positions and deploy troops, Ukrainian infantry confidently engaged in close combat, suppressing the attackers with fire, dispersing them with drones, and sealing the breach. The intruding assault units suffered heavy losses, and a complete clearance was planned for the morning.
Notably, the K-2 battalion of the 54th Brigade, currently commanded by “Oscar,” demonstrated exceptional combat performance. As of 16:00 on December 14, the battalion had eliminated 32 occupiers, wounded 25, destroyed two multiple rocket launchers—BM-21 “Grad” and BM-27 “Uragan”—two MT-LB vehicles with troops, damaged three armored vehicles, and destroyed four buggies and six motorcycles. All targets were confirmed via video with precise coordinates. The battalion securely holds all its positions, and clearing operations against Russian occupiers continue.
Russian propaganda channels falsely claimed a successful advance of 2 kilometers into Ukrainian positions. In reality, after a series of defeats, the Russian command underwent changes in late November 2024, replacing leaders such as the commander of the “South” group, Gennady Anashkin, and commanders of the 3rd Army and the 7th and 123rd Motor Rifle Brigades, who had led previous assaults on Siversk. The new command revised tactics, opting for a massive simultaneous strike from multiple directions, as smaller assault groups had proven ineffective against our defenses.
The new Russian leadership is now attempting to portray this initial offensive as successful through their information channels. However, the true outcomes of the December 14 battles will become evident soon, with each side expected to provide evidence of their claims. The steadfast defense by Ukrainian forces around Siversk, maintained for over two years, continues to exemplify effective defene of Europe .

We must keep reminding the leaders of the free and democratic nations that it is their responsibility to make sure that the killing of hospital workers and many other innocent people of Ukraine that have been brutally murdered or severely injured by Russian invaders will not be in vain 💔 #StandwithUkraine 🇺🇦
Kremlin fires long range ballistic and cruise missiles into Ukraine every night (and ICBM!), while western “allies” prohibit Ukraine from using even short range missile adequately 🥲💔.
