Recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces regained lost positions in the Kharkiv direction and near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Although the occupiers also made advances – on the front line in the area of Chasovye Yar, Toretsk, Kurakhovo, and in the south.
This is stated in a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). It once again pointed to unconfirmed statements by propagandists about the “successes” of the Russian troops.
It is noted that, against the backdrop of prolonged Russian offensive operations in the north of Kharkiv region, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced in the northern part of Vovchansk (northeast of Kharkiv). At the same time, the invaders carried out attacks in the area of Kozacha Lopan (north of Kharkiv along the international border) on January 29 and 30.

In the Pokrovskoye direction, the Defense Forces advanced slightly west of Novoandreyevka (southwest of Pokrovsk). Russian pro-war bloggers reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces also counterattacked near Nadiyevka (north of Novoandreyevka).
A representative of the National Guard of Ukraine brigade reported that the occupiers are conducting exclusively infantry attacks with limited technical support, and Ukrainian drones continue to be the most effective weapon for repelling enemy attacks in the direction of Pokrovsk.

ISW found no confirmation of the propagandists’ claims about the alleged advance of Russian forces southwest of the district center – in the Kotlyne area, in the forest areas south of Uspenivka, north of Vozdvizhenka (east of Pokrovsk).

Although it is reported that on January 29 and 30, the invaders continued their attacks near Pokrovsk itself; to the east of the city in the area of Vozdvizhenka, Malynivka, Vodyany Drugy, Yelizavetivka, Promynia, Novotoretsky, Myrolyubivka; to the southeast – near Lysivka; to the south – near Vidrodzhenka (former Novy Trud) and Zvirovoye; to the southwest – near Kotlyne, Novoukrainka, Udachny, Kotlyarivka and Yasenovoye. According to available information, drone operators of the 1195th Russian Motorized Rifle Regiment (41st Army, Central Military District) are operating in the Pokrovsk direction.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the UAV platoon commander of the 2nd battalion of the 68th OEB with the call sign “Fury” said that in the Pokrovskoye direction, the occupiers are constantly trying to attack with small infantry groups under the cover of fog. In addition, they are also actively using drones: sometimes 30 enemy FPV drones fly to one position of the Defense Forces.

As we see, and as the Western press seems to enjoy ignoring, it’s not only the cockroach army that’s gaining ground. True, the AFU’s successes are also small, but they exist, and they seem to be increasing in numbers lately.
We see many signs of a weakening roach army. This is something for the doomsayers to take into consideration.
