Ukrainian troops have recently advanced in the Hulyaipil direction. Geolocation footage published on March 3 confirms the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the western part of Hulyaipil.
In turn, the occupiers continued limited offensive operations in the Zaporizhia region, but did not advance, according to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War.
The situation in Zaporizhia
Additional geo-tagged footage released on March 4 shows Ukrainian servicemen striking a Russian position west of Hulyaipol after ISW assessed that a Russian infiltration mission had not changed control of the area.
Russian troops attacked near Hulyaipol itself; northwest of Hulyaipol near Svyatopetrivka, Rizdvyanka, Tsvitkove and Varvarivka, as well as towards Vozdvizhivka and Verkhnia Tersa.
Vladislav Voloshyn, a representative of the Southern Defense Forces, said that Ukrainian forces control Tsvitkove, contrary to Russian claims, and that the front line is located 12 kilometers from this settlement. It is also known that on March 4, Russian troops continued limited offensive operations in the western part of Zaporizhia region, but did not advance.
Russian forces, for their part, attacked northeast of Orikhove in the direction of Gulyaipilske; east of Orikhove near Mirne; and west of Orikhove near Stepnohirsk and Primorske. A Russian propagandist linked to the Kremlin stated that the occupiers were holding positions in the center of Primorske, but that these positions overlapped with Ukrainian positions, complicating Russian logistics in the center of the settlement.
The Southern Defense Forces reported that Ukrainian troops control Mali Shcherbaky (west of Orekhovoye), contrary to Russian claims, and that the front line is located approximately two kilometers from the settlement.
As a reminder, the front line in southern Ukraine remains tense, but no significant changes in the combat situation have been recorded yet. The most intense fighting continues in the Hulyaipil direction.
OBOZ.UA previously reported that the Russian army has concentrated significant forces of several armies in the southern direction, trying to advance deep into the Ukrainian defense. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting active maneuver operations.
