Activity on both sides was recorded on the front line in Zaporizhia region. Ukrainian troops
achieved tactical successes in the western part of the region, while the occupiers attempted
to advance in the Hulyaipol area.
Ukrainian defenders have advanced northeast of the settlement of Kamianske, according to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War.
Tactical successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Geolocation footage released on May 5 confirms the advance of Ukrainian forces northeast of the settlement of Kamianske (southeast of the city of Zaporizhia). This indicates that the initiative is maintained in certain areas of the western part of the region.
In addition to ground operations, Ukrainian forces continue to methodically destroy enemy logistics and equipment. Geo-location video footage confirms a series of successful medium-range strikes between May 3 and 5.
The target of the Ukrainian strike was a Russian radar system “Kasta-2E” north of occupied Yelyseyivka. The facility was located approximately 64 kilometers from the current front line, highlighting the effectiveness of Ukrainian weapons in the deep rear.

The situation in the Hulyaipol area
Russian troops have been active on the eastern flank of the region. According to ISW analysts, Russian units have conducted a series of infiltration operations and advanced towards Hulyaipol. Geolocation footage from May 6 shows Russian troops shelling Ukrainian positions in the south of Dobropillya.
For their part, Ukrainian forces shelled a Russian position east of Vozdvizhivka (northwest of Hulyaipol) after what ISW assessed was an infiltration operation by the Russian army.

As a reminder, Russian troops are increasing pressure in the Kupyansk direction and have conducted infiltration missions in the area of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, and near Dobropillya, Zaporizhia.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Ukrainian troops achieved tactical successes during counteroffensive operations on several fronts at once. The most significant advances were recorded in the Kharkiv region and Zaporizhia.
