Ukrainian forces are holding back Russian attacks and counterattacking in the Kostyantynivka-Druzhkivka tactical area. Defenders have recently advanced south of Predtechyny (east of Kostyantynivka) and south of Oleksandro-Shultyny (southeast of Kostyantynivka).
Ukrainian forces also maintain positions southeast of Kostyantynivka , where, according to previously stated Russian sources, the occupiers maintained a presence, according to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War.
Fighting in the Kostyantynivka area
The commander of a Ukrainian drone battalion operating in the Kostyantynivka area said that Russian forces could conduct more mechanized attacks in the winter when the ground freezes. However, currently, wet soil is making it difficult for Russian mechanized forces to operate due to the marshy terrain in the area.
In addition to infantry attacks, the Russian occupation army is carrying out bombing attacks on Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka. Russian troops attacked east of Kostyantynivka near Stupochky; southeast of Kostyantynivka in the area of Pleshchivka and Oleksandro-Shultino; south of Kostyantynivka in the area of Shcherbynivka and Ivanopillya; southwest of Kostyantynivka in the area of Yablunivka and towards Berestok; south of Druzhkivka in the area of Rusynyi Yar and southwest of Druzhkivka in the area of Sofiivka and Volodymyrivka.
Attacks on Dobropillya
Geolocation footage shows that on November 4, Russian forces continued their offensive in the Dobropillya tactical direction, but did not advance. The invaders attacked east of Dobropillya in the area of Shakhovoe and Novy Shakhovoe, as well as southeast of Dobropillya in the area of Zapovedne and Ivanovka on November 3 and 4.
Russian sources have confirmed that Ukrainian forces have counterattacked in the areas of Shakhovoe, Novy Shakhovoe and Zapovedne. Drone operators from the Russian “Aleppo” detachment of the 1472nd Motorized Rifle Regiment are carrying out strikes in this direction. In addition, drone operators from the “Smuglyanka” detachment are carrying out guided bomb strikes on Ukrainian forces in the northern part of the Dobropil salient.
Let us remind you that the Russian occupation army has changed the tactics of offensive operations in the Pokrovsky direction. In particular, over the past month, the occupiers have begun to use armored vehicles more often on this section of the front. Such actions by the enemy indicate an attempt to seize territory at any cost.
As OBOZ.UA reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky indirectly confirmed that Ukrainian defenders are currently conducting a counteroffensive in the Pokrov direction. He referred to relevant reports from Ukrainian defenders.
