Ukrainian teachers’ salaries may be significantly increased: the Rada made a statement

The People’s Deputy emphasized that such a step is especially important during war.

From January 1, 2026, teachers’ salaries in Ukraine may increase by 50%. This will bring the average level of wages to 30 thousand hryvnias per month. This was stated by the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, Ruslan Gorbenko, on the air of “Novyny.LIVE” .

“Currently, the average teacher’s salary in Ukraine is 15 thousand hryvnias, and if you take, for example, classroom management or additional teaching hours, it’s about another 5 thousand. There is a proposal to increase the financial support of our teachers by 50% this year… On average, the average teacher’s salary in Ukraine will be 30 thousand hryvnias,” he shared.

According to Horbenko, such a step is especially important during a war. He emphasized that teachers’ current salaries are insufficient, despite the importance of their profession.

The MP noted that an increase in the minimum wage is being considered for educators, not just for teachers with extensive work experience and seniority. He believes that this decision will support all education workers.Read also:
