Ukrainian Su-27 crashed in Zaporizhzhia direction. Pilot killed.

While performing a combat mission on a Su-27 aircraft in the Zaporizhzhia direction, a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Major Oleksandr Borovyk, was killed. This is stated in a message of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade on Thursday, September 11.

“We regret to inform you that on September 11, 2025, at about 1:30 p.m., in the Zaporizhzhia direction, while performing a combat mission on a Su-27 aircraft, our comrade – a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Major Oleksandr Borovyk, born on April 19, 1995, was killed,” the message says.

The causes and circumstances of the pilot’s death are being investigated.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Serhii Bondar, a pilot of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade “Kyiv Ghost”, was killed on the night of August 23.

On the night of June 29, F-16 pilot Maksym Ustymenko was killed while repelling a massive russian missile and drone strike.

On the night of May 16, the Ukrainian Air Forces lost an F-16 fighter jet during a combat sortie.
