While planning offensive operations in the east, the defense forces took into account the fact of contradictions between PMC Wagner and incumbent Russian authorities and continue going on the offensive in Bakhmut direction.
“While planning offensive operations in the east, our military took into account the fact of contradictions between Wagner and incumbent Russian authorities. At present, offensive operations in Bakhmut direction have been going on for the fourth day. Our defenders advance on the flanks every day. Gradually, but confidently. As of today, they have not entered the city of Bakhmut,” Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar informed posted on Telegram.
As noted, the liberation of this direction has its own peculiarity which complicates the process. In particular, the area of Bakhmut and its suburbs has a developed system of engineering fortifications and an extensive network of strongholds. At one time, all this was prepared by the Ukrainian military and local authorities for defense, which actually helped to hold it for so long. At the same time, now these fortifications and strongholds are occupied by the enemy, so to liberate these lands, a little more effort and patience is needed, the deputy minister explained.

Yeah, that’s one of the sticking points that American conservatives who insist the military aid of equipment is a waste of American taxes. But I don’t blame Ukrainian fighters for trying so hard for Bakhmut, the russians seem particularly entrenched in the city, though they don’t have very much at all in the nearby countryside. With the recent wagner confusion though, I wonder if Ukraine forces can try a “horns of the bull” maneuver (see Zulu war tactics) with tanks and artillery in the “head,” for distracting the russians from the “horns.” The rapid response strike teams and motorcycle infantry can be the “horns.” I don’t know what the terrain around Bakhmut looks like, but if it’s flat, that should make for a good approach if the “horns” charge in fast like a sudden surge coordinated with the head-on attack of the tanks and cannon.
I also recognize that Ukrainian generals and soldiers in the battlefield may have a better understanding of this than I do.
Will you please stop this idiotic predilection of broadly accusing a group of a certain actions. You sound like a disgruntled democrat. I’m a a conservative and don’t agree nor have I seen US conservatives at large advocating or suggesting military aid is a waste. So knock off the bullshit!!!
Do you think I agree with OTHER PEOPLE saying that military aid is a “waste?” Because even online with the internet, this blog is NOT the place to claim American aid is wasteful. I know you guys would take any suggestion against aid for Ukraine in the midst of the war, as a extreme insult. So if I’m simply telling you what OTHER people are saying, must I also say every time, that I fully support Ukraine’s right for national defense and security?
Here I was suggesting a battle tactic for breaking the stalemate, and at the same time, acknowledging someone else might have a better idea. I want Ukraine to beat the russian back, and to make them regret invading so much, that it should cause the average russian a sense of fear. I described how I personally went to Kyiv, in the hope of meeting a beautiful Ukrainian lady. Am I the one to regret all of this instead?
I suppose that perhaps CapWillie misunderstood what I was getting at, and I ask that it not be held against him. All the same, I feel like taking a break for a while. I want to celebrate my upcoming 43 birthday for now.
Was celebrating my 47th a week ago. Happy Birthday Mac!
