Ukrainian military commandant’s offices to open in Ukrainian Defense Forces-controlled Russia.

Military commandant’s offices will appear in the settlements of the Kursk region liberated by Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian President and Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelensky said this would be done to ensure security and provide humanitarian aid to the local population.

It is also planned to create humanitarian corridors for local residents and allow UN representatives to enter the frontline territory.

“Ukraine is defending itself and the lives of its people in border communities and is taking active action on Russian territory. Our forces strictly adhere to the requirements of international conventions and international humanitarian law,” Zelensky said.

It should be noted that at the moment the Defense Forces control 1100 sq. km of Kursk region. During August 14, 3-4 more settlements were liberated, our troops captured about 100 more Russian soldiers and officers.

  1. “It is also planned to create humanitarian corridors for local residents.”

Corridors to Russia? Through the rapidly shifting front lines? Not a good idea. Ukrainian soldiers have better things to do. But maybe they could be sent to camps in Ukraine. The men might like to join the Ukrainian army.
