Ukrainian forces lure Russian troops into trap in Pokrovsk sector

7 April, 2025

Armed Forces of Ukraine delivered a strike against Russian military units in the Andriivka – Oleksiivka front direction last week.

This was reported by Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev on Facebook.

“The success of our actions in countering the Russian offensive operations is primarily determined by the availability of sufficient forces and resources. These are the main prerequisites for the effective use of already organized reconnaissance, command, management, and coordination. I work directly with brigade and battalion commanders, as well as sergeants and soldiers, to ensure proper coordination between units and coordinated execution of tasks along the frontline sectors, where the enemy is attempting to break through. We had some gains,” Naiev said.

According to the lieutenant general, last week, in the Andriivka – Oleksiivka frontline sector, the Defense Forces of Ukraine lured the enemy forces into a pre-prepared trap and stopped them. Afterward, a devastating fire strike was delivered by several brigades and units. Over 600 artillery shells and more than 200 strike drones were used.

“As a result, 120 Russian infantry, 3 tanks, 11 armored fighting vehicles, and one enemy vehicle were destroyed. After the battle, the area was cleared. Thus, the enemy’s attempt was thwarted. This is the result of clear coordination, early detection of the enemy’s plans, and, most importantly, the availability of the necessary forces and resources for an adequate response. This is the decisive factor in modern warfare. If forces or resources are insufficient, reinforcement must occur,” Naiev emphasized.

  • Since the beginning of the day on April 7, 77 combat engagements have taken place along the Russian-Ukrainian front. The occupying Russian forces are attacking in the Pokrovsk sector the most.

  1. Luring cockroaches into a trap is easy. All you need is a roach motel. The Ukrainian versions have explosive surprises in them.

“Since the beginning of the day on April 7, 77 combat engagements have taken place along the Russian-Ukrainian front.”

    Today was another slow day.

  2. “The occupying Russian forces are attacking in the Pokrovsk sector the most.”

Last year Pokrovsk was coming under 100s of attacks daily, now the whole front line has only 77 attacks in a day. The rumour mill stated that the orcs are amassing yet another huge force to launch another offensive this spring. We have heard these claims before, which proved to be BS spread by Z propagandists.

    • Yes, the last “massive offensive” was supposed to be in the Zaporizhia sector. It just sort of fizzled into nothingness. Not sure what the roaches want to use in an offensive. Horse-drawn wagons and muzzle-loading cannons?
