Russian football referee Daniil Shemetov has been killed in the war against Ukraine, the Russian Football Union reported on July 7.Shemetov was 31 years old and was considered a “promising” referee.He worked in Russia’s Second League in the 2019/2020 season and refereed 41 games, as well as officiated five matches of the Russian Cup.Soon he was to make his debut in the Russian First League.The referee chose a different path and came to invade Ukrainian land instead, where his career was cut short.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated Russian five-time world powerlifting champion Maksim Barkhatov.

I wrote here about a theory I have about what I think putin tried, both before the 2014 events, and since, to have russia “absorb” Ukraine. I hope that it helps.
There’s something I’ve noticed from discussions on my American Conservative forum. About how illegal immigrants, or even legally documented immigrants, can slowly influence a country towards becoming more like the countries the immigrants came from. I’m bringing this up, because Ukraine has its own independent and unique culture, which should be respected, to develop on its own without interference that may not be wanted from foreigners. Of course, I am to Ukraine, a foreigner myself, but I feel like maybe Ukraine has a similar problem to America’s immigration problem, especially in an analogous sense to America’s southern border. Here in my home country, the overwhelming drug addiction problem is fueled by illegal immigrants who behave as drug mules for the mexican crime cartels and gang families to profit off of Americans wasting away their lives in chemical addiction. The refugees fleeing South America, bringing their ideas of venezuelan communism, cuban communism, haitian poverty, and now also brazil is falling into that direction too.
I’m not sure, since I didn’t study this in depth, but I think that sometime before the invasion, before even 2014, putin created a “long-term plan” towards trying to get Ukrainian citizens towards accepting russian control. To push the idea that Ukrainians and russians are actually cultural “brothers.” They probably sent large numbers of russians to settle with homes and lives in Ukraine, but held onto those cultural traits that made them russian. Now in some ways, this has been going on for hundreds of years, but it seems like russia did that during the Cold War, and turned Ukraine into a vassal state. Now that Ukraine has its sovereignty again, putin wants to repeat the USSR’s previous policy.
I’m happy with immigration, IF the immigrants can accommodate the one following condition: to embrace the culture of the country they move to. America is made of cultures blending together into a new combination where the different ethnicities can respect each other all as fellow Americans. But this only works, if say, a Mexican brings some cultural tradition from Mexico, then it must be a good one to add to America’s. But immigrants shouldn’t be allowed to “override” American culture. Mexican-Spanish language should not be allowed to “replace” American-English language, for example.
Now, in similar ways, this may be considered with russian immigration to Ukraine, but more over the long-term. I know that Ukraine is bilingual in many loyally patriotic Ukrainians speaking both Ukrainian, and/or Russian, but I think putin hoped to use this, along with long term “immigration” of some russians. Especially if they had secret connections in some ways, to the FSB, the russian military, or to the kremlin. This strategy seemed very effective in czechoslovakia, and now they are a vassal state fully under almost willing control, by russia. Clearly, russian infiltration of Ukraine hasn’t been as effective as putin thought, but I think examining the situation this way will help prevent more of russia’s infiltration efforts.
It’s also been suggested that the current situation of riots in France, has been the result of immigration from North Africa, bringing their traits into France and replacing French culture with moroccan, or algerian traits.

That’s nonsense. The vast majority of drugs come in by plane and truck.

Of course, nobody has ever suggested that it should.
Also, keep in mind that Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States, whose people are American citizens. Both Spanish and English are the official languages of Puerto Rico, but Spanish is without a doubt the dominant language. And Spanish is, and has been, the only official language of the entire Commonwealth judiciary system.
