On the eastern front, Ukrainian forces have successfully destroyed a russian Tor-M2 short-range air defense system valued at approximately $25 million, according to the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Grouping of Troops.

The operation was made possible through the efforts of the 5th Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade Black Forest, whose personnel identified the system and provided precise targeting data for its destruction.

“The elimination of key russian military assets significantly degrades the enemy’s combat capabilities over the long term,” the Khortytsia command stated.

The Tor-M2 is a short-range surface-to-air missile system designed to defend frontline units and critical infrastructure from aerial threats, including aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and drones.

This strike is part of a broader campaign to weaken russia’s air defense capabilities and disrupt its military logistics.

Earlier, Defense Express reported a notable increase in Ukrainian DeepStrike attacks targeting the russian military industry facilities. In a recent update, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi disclosed that Ukrainian long-range strike drones hit 58 targets across russia in May alone.

“These strikes hit military sites and dealt a serious blow to the aggressor’s defense industry,” Syrskyi stated. “The targets included production facilities for explosives and loitering munitions.”

  1. It’s not been a good day for mafia land. Bridges collapsing through poor maintenance, drone debris wreaking havoc, and to top it off a $25 million air defence system destroyed.
