Ukrainian drones struck a Russian defense facility specializing in the production of ammunition, according to video footage published by the Supernova Telegram channel.

The attack reportedly targeted the production site of the Basalt enterprise in Krasnoarmeysk, Moscow region.

Eyewitness video shows at least three explosions at the site.

The extent of the damage remains unclear, and exact impact points have not been verified.

Basalt

Basalt is a key part of Russia’s defense industry and is a subsidiary of the state-owned Rostec corporation.

The company handles the full cycle of ammunition development, production, modernization, and disposal for ground, air, and naval forces.

Its main products include artillery shells, aerial bombs, combat engineering munitions, anti-tank weapons, and grenade launchers.

Examples of its output include RPG-7, RPG-29 “Vampir,” RPG-30, and RPG-32 anti-tank grenade launchers.

Basalt also manufactures thermobaric charges, cluster munitions, and infantry flamethrowers.

Attacks on Russian Defense Industry Facilities

The attack comes amid a broader pattern of strikes on Russian defense facilities.

Ukrainian drones have reportedly targeted enterprises under Rostec involved in the production of multiple launch rocket systems and air defense systems such as the Pantsir-S1.

Initial reports of explosions emerged from residents who noticed smoke near Shcheglovska Street where JSC KBP, developer of high-precision guided munitions, is located.

NPO Splav JSC, which manufactures MLRS systems, is also based in this area.
