Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery in western Siberia on July 25, reaching a target located nearly 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Videos circulating online showed a fire at the facility, while Russian regional authorities confirmed that a drone had crashed on the refinery’s grounds.
According to Russian officials, local eyewitness footage, and geolocation analysis published by the OSINT projects Exilenova+ and Supernova+, the attack caused a fire at one of the refinery’s processing units. The extent of the damage has not been independently verified.
Tyumen Region Governor Alexander Moor said that “a drone fell on the territory of the Tyumen Oil Refinery,” adding that the incident caused a fire at the facility.
Videos shared by local channels and later geolocated by Exilenova+ and Supernova+ appear to show flames engulfing part of the refinery, including an oil-processing unit protected by anti-drone netting. A separate column of smoke visible in some footage is believed to be linked to the refinery’s flare system, which is designed to safely burn off excess gases.
Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, also confirmed that the refinery had been targeted, writing on Telegram: “Tyumen, arrivals, refinery, good.”
The Tyumen Oil Refinery, formerly known as the Antipinsky Refinery, is among the largest independent oil-processing facilities in Russia and one of the biggest refineries in Western Siberia.
The plant has an annual crude-processing capacity of approximately 8–9 million metric tons and a reported refining depth of up to 98%, allowing it to produce large volumes of diesel fuel, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas, petroleum coke, and sulfur.
The refinery had also planned to expand production through a hydrocracking unit capable of manufacturing aviation fuel and petrochemical products, although those modernization plans were reportedly suspended due to financial difficulties.
The strike follows previous Ukrainian long-range drone attacks against Russian energy infrastructure. On June 20, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces reported striking the same refinery.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the operation involved upgraded long-range drones developed by the Ukrainian company Fire Point, which he said are capable of striking targets at distances of up to 3,000 kilometers.

It didn’t fall, it was put there by Ukraine. This is more than a strike on an oil refinery, it’s a huge pyschological blow to mafia land.
Its a good thing that Zelensky didn’t listen to the western politicians that told him not to strike oil and gas production. Its become the single most factor in stopping putin’s genocide on Ukraine.
