Ukrainian drone operators have established fire control over the temporarily occupied Donetsk Airport, targeting russian logistics, air defense assets, and Shahed launch sites in an operation aimed at rendering the facility unusable

russia’s use of the temporarily occupied Donetsk Airport as a logistics and drone-launch hub has come under increasing pressure after Ukrainian drone operators established what they describe as “fire control” over the facility. According to Ukraine’s 1st Separate UAS Center, the operation has significantly disrupted russian military activity at the strategically important airfield.

The Center released footage showing strikes against russian assets located on the airport grounds. The objective of the operation is to render the airfield unusable for military purposes, targeting critical infrastructure and equipment used by occupying forces.

Since capturing the airport, russian forces have reportedly transformed the site into a key element of their military network in the east of Ukraine. The facility has served as a logistics center, hosting transport vehicles, engineering equipment, supply depots, and infrastructure used for launching Shahed-type loitering munitions against Ukrainian targets.

Operators from the 1st Center have focused their attacks on drone launch positions, support vehicles, and russian personnel operating directly on the runway. The strikes appear designed not only to destroy individual assets but also to undermine the airport’s overall operational capacity.

At the same time, Ukrainian drone teams have been hunting russian mobile air defense units and fire groups protecting the area. According to the unit, this pressure has forced russian forces to cancel planned flight operations and adapt their activities around the airfield.

The campaign has also targeted engineering equipment, fuel tankers, warehouses, and logistics nodes. The Center described the effort as a systematic degradation of the enemy’s entire “airfield ecosystem”, aiming to disrupt every stage of military operations conducted from the site.

Among the reported results are the destruction of Shahed launch systems, construction cranes, military vehicles, and supply storage facilities. While the full extent of the damage cannot be independently verified, the released footage suggests sustained Ukrainian drone activity deep within the temporarily occupied facility.
