In the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, the Lukoil-Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez refinery was hit on October 16. Previously, the L-24/300 installation was familiar with the “cotton”.

As noted by OSINT researchers from the Cyber Flour project, it hydrotreats 24 tons of raw materials per hour, or up to 300,000 tons per year. Photos from Kstovo with black smoke above the plant confirm the hit.

Coordinates L-24/300: 56.095977, 44.157499

“The destruction of fuel production facilities has already led to a significant shortage, social pressure, and the need to significantly increase subsidies for the fuel sector. At gas stations in Russia, the shortage is growing with each strike,” CyberBoroshny noted.

Meanwhile, local propaganda outlets attempted to pass off the sound of the explosion on the morning of October 16 as “the plane’s transition to supersonic flight.” However, many people in the comments disagreed with this version.
