Ukrainian drones attacked the largest metallurgical plant in Russia

On the night of June 30, Ukrainian drones attacked the territory of Russia’s largest Novolypetsk metallurgical plant.

The information about this was confirmed in the press service of the enterprise, writes the Russian publication “Kommersant”.

The company claims that the attack was carried out by a “swarm of UAVs”.

NLMK admitted that the plant was destroyed, but did not specify the details.

According to the Russian Baza Telegram channel, the drone attack on the plant began at two o’clock in the morning and lasted for over an hour. In total, during this time, 7 explosions were recorded on the territory.

It is known that one of the drones fell and damaged the oxygen separation unit. Four more UAVs tried to attack the building of the oxygen station. The operation of two oxygen units at the Novolypetsk metallurgical plant was stopped after the UAV attack, and the building of the oxygen station was destroyed.

As reported, Ukrainian drones already attacked NLMK at the end of February. After the powerful explosions at the Novoliptsk metallurgical plant, a large-scale fire began and the evacuation of all plant personnel.

According to Censor.NET sources in the SBU, at that time the drones targeted installations designed for primary cooling of raw coke gas, which was supposed to stop the production process of the metallurgical plant for a long time.

NLMK is owned by Vladimir Lisin, a Russian oligarch close to Putin. He is one of the three richest people in the Russian Federation. According to the media, until recently, the Novolypetsk Metallurgical Plant produced raw materials for Russian companies dealing with nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Джерело: https://biz.censor.net/n3497401
