On the night of December 4, suicide drones attacked the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation. The target of the attack was the Azot enterprise in the city of Nevinnomyssk.
As a result of the attack, a large fire broke out on the territory of a chemical plant . This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.
Details of the operation
The UAV flight over the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation and the subsequent explosions were recorded on the night of December 4. According to preliminary data, the explosions thundered over the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant.
An airstrike alert was declared in the Stavropol region shortly after midnight. Local governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed that UAVs were attacking facilities in Nevinnomyssk.
The official claims that there were no injuries or damage from the drone attack. At the same time, the governor said that emergency services are working at the sites of falling debris.
“The drone danger regime in the region continues to operate. Please do not film or post footage of air defense operations, drone flights, or drone crashes online. Be vigilant,” the Stavropol governor wrote at night.
What is known about the plant?
JSC “Nevinnomyssk Azot” is one of the largest chemical enterprises in southern Russia and the leading producer of nitrogen fertilizers in the country . The enterprise is part of JSC “Mineral and Chemical Company “EuroChem”.
The enterprise produces a wide range of products, focused on both agriculture (fertilizers) and the industrial sector (organic synthesis products). The plant produces ammonia, ammonium nitrate, urea, liquid nitrogen fertilizers, complex mineral fertilizers, and nitric acid.
According to data from open sources, Nevinnomyssk Azot has a number of productions unique to Russia: melamine, high-purity acetic acid, methyl acetate, vinyl acetate, methanol, butyl acetate.
The enterprise produces millions of tons of commercial products per year. A significant part of the products produced are exported. Some types of products (ammonia, ammonium nitrate and other substances) have a dual purpose and can be used both in agriculture and in the production of ammunition.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, explosions rocked the Russian village of Dmytrivka in the Tambov region on the night of December 3. Local authorities said that the fire at the oil depot allegedly occurred “after the fall of UAV debris .” It is known that this is a facility of JSC “Tambovnefteprodukt”; due to the “drone danger” in Tambov, the local airport was suspended.
