Ukrainian Drones Attacked A Refinery In Yaroslavl, russia

12.12.2025

Russia has complained about a new drone attack. Explosions, in particular, were heard in the Russian city of Yaroslavl on the night of December 12.

Local residents claim that one of the largest refineries in Russia, Yaroslavnefteorgsintez, was attacked, and a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise. Footage from the scene was collected by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

What is known

Local public forums began writing about the explosions in Yaroslavl at around 4 a.m. Kyiv time. They counted “more than five” “loud pops” over the region.

Large Z-publics that picked up the topic wrote about “five to seven” explosions – but not over the entire region, but only over the city. The propagandists were also puzzled by the “unexplained rumble in the sky” over Yaroslavl, which “is being attacked for the second day in a row.”

“Yaroslavl, locals report that the local refinery was attacked,” Exilenova+ summarized the content of the comments left by Russians after the explosions.

The independent Russian publication ASTRA also wrote about the attack on this refinery, citing local sources.

The “Carpet Plan” was announced at the Yaroslavl airport : planes stopped taking off and landing from 3 a.m.

The local governor announced the “drone danger” at 03:21 Kyiv time.

While propagandists were writing about “smoke over one of the districts,” a lot of footage appeared online showing its source: a large fire, reportedly over a local refinery. And Exilenova+ sarcastically noted that the Russians were in no hurry to put out the plant, adding a photo of fire trucks parked along the road to the message.

The attacked refinery is among the five largest in Russia

The Yaroslavnefteorgsintez plant (alternative names – Slavnefte-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez, Slavnefte-YANOS), which came under another attack, is the largest refinery in northern Russia.

The fuel and oil enterprise specializes in the processing of petroleum products and is one of the five largest refineries in Russia in terms of the volume of primary oil processing, and is also the largest oil refining enterprise in the Central Federal District.

The main shareholders of the enterprise are Gazprom Neft and Rosneft.

The enterprise produces several dozen types of petroleum products : automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, jet fuel and heating oil; base, compression, transmission and industrial oils; bitumens – road, roofing and construction; paraffin wax products, aromatic hydrocarbons.

Among the consumers of the plant’s products are almost all large enterprises in the Central and Northwestern regions of Russia, as well as airports, the Northern Railway administration, and facilities of the military-industrial complex.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that SBU drones stopped the operation of a Russian oil production platform in the Caspian Sea. At least four hits were made on an important facility for the aggressor.

Also, the day before, drones attacked the Smolensk region, causing a fire. The Dorogobuzh PJSC enterprise was hit, as well as, presumably, a nearby thermal power plant in the city of the same name.

  1. Wonderful. I hope the damages are great.
Remember, a burning refinery is a burning money machine.
