A Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia, former internal troops) was destroyed by the Defense Forces on the outskirts of Donetsk.

Information about the loss of the aircraft and the destruction of its crew is confirmed by enemy propagandists; a photograph of the burning wreckage of the helicopter has already appeared on the Internet, reports a correspondent for Dumskaya.
The most interesting method of destroying the helicopter is the enemy “war correspondents” claim that in recent days, Ukrainian drone operators have been trying to hit the enemy’s tactical aviation at rear airfields.
Today, according to them, they succeeded, and the drone hit the Mi-8 at the moment of takeoff, that is, when the helicopter was already in the air. Thus, this is the first case of a drone hitting a flying helicopter. Previously, our soldiers repeatedly tried to fly FPV drones to enemy aircraft passing by, but the helicopters’ too high flight speed did not allow them to carry out a successful attack.
“The distance is also noteworthy – it is quite far from the line of combat. It is possible that a sabotage and reconnaissance group was operating from the territory controlled by the enemy, but it is quite possible that a long-range drone was also used,” comments Dumskaya military observer Viktor Bosnyak.
