Kursk region under intense shelling, sources say.

Ukrainian troops have approached the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Intense fighting continues in the area.

As the Russian project “VChK-OGPU” reports with reference to its own sources, the Ukrainian army is already approaching Sudzha. The positions were supposed to be defended by “Kadyrovites”, but something went wrong.

“The vaunted “Akhmat” has retreated. Residents of Sudzha are trying to leave for Kursk. Kursk Region is under intense shelling,” the project writes, adding a video showing the moment of the shelling.

Russia complains about Ukrainian Armed Forces attack in Kursk region

As UNIAN reported, on Tuesday, August 6, Russia announced attempts to break through the border by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. In particular, the local governor claims that Ukrainian forces are attacking on the territory of the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts.

Russian Telegram channels report extensive destruction in the village of Sudzha. It is claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces even managed to break through on several armored vehicles. They add that the Ukrainian army continues to concentrate troops in the Sumy direction. It is noted that the equipment is in the nearby forests.

The Freedom of Russia Legion writes about battles in the area not only of the village of Sudzha, but also near Kurilovka in the Kursk region.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have broken through the border in the Kursk region. Intense fighting is currently ongoing in this area. Reserves are being sent there.
