It is noted that Ukrainian troops have already overcome the minefield of the invaders to the north of the city.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are already moving towards the occupied city of Tokmak, Zaporozhye region.
It is a key point on the way to Melitopol.”Ukrainian troops have crossed a Russian minefield north of Tokmok and are now engaging the first line of Russian defense that holds the city,” CBS News reported , citing unnamed U.S. officials.
The publication recalled that Melitopol is included in the strategic goals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since it is an important transport hub that leads to the occupied Crimea.
It is noted that the liberation of Tokmok with the subsequent advance to Melitopol will be a difficult task for the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
However, it is noted that since the beginning of the summer, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been making more and more progress.

These unnamed officials are talking bollocks. Depending in which direction Ukraine takes, there are either 3 or 4 lines of defence before you reach Tokmak. Unless these unnamed officials know more than the DeepState map, which I doubt.
I think that those lines are just trenches and not much of anything else.
Could be, they are not going to stop Ukraine as much as the minefields.
Anyway, those lines are only as strong as the units defending them. Still, foccusser is right, it’s still some way towards Tokmak. I don’t know what CNN’s sources are talking about, neither.
We will see soon enough, but there are new reports coming in about areas that are free of mines. Let’s hope this is at least largely the case.
Hooray! 🇺🇦
If the defenses before Tokmok are only trenches and dragon’s teeth … or lines on a map … then the worst is behind the Ukrainian troops. We’ll see in the coming days what they are made of and if there are any large minefields and enough cockroaches infesting the holes in the ground.
