Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenders forced to save missiles for Patriot systems due to intense shelling

Due to the high intensity of russian shelling, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners are forced to use ammunition for Western air defense systems as rationally as possible. Yurii Ihnat, the head of the Communications Department of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has announced this during a telethon.

The situation with the availability of missiles remains critical. He recalled recent footage from the front line, where soldiers showed half-empty launchers.

“Our fighters who serve on Patriot say that there are empty containers, that in this particular launcher, which is shown, there are two out of eight missiles left,” Ihnat noted.

According to the command representative, Ukrainian specialists have learned to work in austerity mode to maintain their ability to defend the sky during future attacks. “Our people are trained 24×7 not only to successfully repel ballistic missiles, rationally using not just a few missiles, but also to save money for later,” emphasized Ihnat.

He also added that despite the enormous experience of Ukrainians, “the issue of missiles is really very serious now.”

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early April, the Ministry of Defense reported that in March, Ukraine’s air defense forces demonstrated the highest level of efficiency in recent months, neutralizing 89.9% of enemy air targets.

In April, Defense Minister’s advisor Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) said that Ukraine had launched innovative private air defense system.
