Ukrainian and American soldiers served together in Iraq and Afghanistan because nobody in Ukraine said “oh look at the crime rate in the US”, “school shootings”, “this is not our war”… Ukrainian soldiers went there because we felt for every person who lost their loved ones on 9/11, we fought shoulder to shoulder with NATO brothers and helped them return home safe. Ukraine was not even a NATO member, but we did what the decent people would do.
