Ukraine may have just entered the most important 96 hours of the war.
Zelenskyy’s ceasefire is now in effect, Russia has gone quiet for the moment, and Putin is facing enormous pressure ahead of the May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow. But before the ceasefire began, Russia launched brutal attacks across Ukraine — killing and injuring civilians in Zaporizhia, Kramatorsk, Poltava, Dnipro, Kherson, Chernihiv, Sumy, and beyond.
In this update, I break down why this 96-hour window matters, how Zelenskyy seized the initiative from Putin, why Russia may be trying to provoke a Ukrainian response, and what Ukraine’s new JDAM-ER support from the United States could mean going forward.
This is a critical moment in the Ukraine-Russia war — and the next four days could reveal whether Putin respects the ceasefire, violates it, or loses the strategic narrative entirely.
