The defense concern Rheinmetall (Germany) plans to supply Ukraine with “hundreds of thousands” of artillery ammunition during 2024. Among them will be prototypes of projectiles with a range of 100 kilometers.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of Rheinmetall, Armin Papperger, speaking at the Industrial Club of Düsseldorf-Boss, Handelsblatt reports. In particular, in the context of the Russian war against Ukraine, he said that “artillery changes the rules” on the battlefield and Rheinmetall is expected to supply “hundreds of thousands” of artillery shells to the Ukrainian army this year.
“The company is now focusing in particular on the production of artillery ammunition. Artillery is changing the rules,” Papperger said.
As the publication notes, the Russian Federation produces a large amount of artillery ammunition and Ukraine can only respond to attacks to a limited extent due to a shortage of shells. In both Europe and the United States, artillery ammunition production capacity has been gradually reduced in recent years.
“The Western world is not ready for a conventional war,” Papperger said.
Before the full-scale invasion, Rheinmetall’s capacity was about 70 thousand shells per year. This year, the DAX group is already expecting 700 thousand shells. In the medium term, 1.1 million is expected.
The most modern 155 mm artillery ammunition that Ukraine has or had in service also came to Ukraine thanks to German assistance, but not from Rheinmetall. These were Vulcano ammunition in different versions.
In particular, Vulcano 155 BER with a flight range of about 50 km and Vulcano 155 GPS/SAL with a flight range of about 70 km were delivered. A total of 255 shells were delivered.
As OBOZ.UA reported, the US Congress has doubled funding for the purchase and production of 155mm artillery shells to replenish stocks depleted after deliveries to Ukraine and Israel. In total, up to $6 billion has been allocated for these purposes.
Let us also recall that 20 countries have already joined the Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine. Prague has found more than a million units of shells that could be bought in countries outside the EU, previously it was about 800 thousand units.

That’s awesome news. Artillery rounds that go 100 km and have decent accuracy would bring many advantages to the frontline for Ukraine. Rheinmetall is once again showing its dedication to helping Ukraine in its epic war against the evil crime syndicate.
BTW, I have gained a 91% profit from the company’s stocks since late last year. It’s not too late to invest. The trend is a bullish one for Rheinmetall.
I heard about Rheinmetall through this group. I put in a bid at $49 when it was trading around $50, but it didn’t dip as I had hoped, and I missed the boat. But my Raytheon is doing nicely.
Good to hear, Larry.
That was a hell of a smart decision facts. I wish I’d done the same.
I wish I could find a reliable broker.
The problem is that I didn’t invest as much as I could’ve, and this angers me a bit.🤡
“U.S. put a hold on an ammunition shipment to Israel”

I wonder if there’s someplace else it could be sent…
That is good news. I was supportive of Israel, but their recent mothballing of Patriots instead of sending them to Ukraine has reminded me that it has a junk government and doesn’t deserve our support anymore.
I still think that Israel deserve our support; it’s Netanyahu and the far-right parties he partnered with that are the problem.
Then, the Israelis should solve the problem with Netanyahu and the fascists.
