Ukraine to receive $7.9 billion from U.S. for economic support

The Ukrainian Cabinet has approved a draft agreement with the United States for nearly $7.9 billion in economic aid, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on May 30.

According to the announcement, these funds are part of a larger American aid package totaling almost $61 billion. Prime Minister Shmyhal stated that the money will be used to support Ukraine’s state budget.

Additionally, Ukraine will secure nearly €100 million from the European Investment Bank. These funds will be directed toward loans for small and medium-sized businesses.

Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak shared the text of the agreement on his Telegram channel.

Overall, Ukraine has received $11.8 billion in international financial aid this year. This includes funds from the IMF, the EU’s Ukraine Facility program, and contributions from other partners such as Japan, Canada, and the UK, according to Shmyhal.
