Ukraine’s national football team will face Holland during the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship.
Germany, following a 6-1 hammering of Northern Ireland in a Group C qualifier, sealed a Pot 1 seeding during the draw for the group stage of the tournament, whereas Holland, despite a 5-0 thrashing of Estonia, finished second in their group and will be placed in Pot 2.
Due to the fact that 12 Euro 2020 hosts were initially placed in groups, Ukraine will not get into quartets with Italy, England, Germany and Spain (since they will also be in Pot 1). Ukraine will also not be placed in the same group with Russia for political reasons.
Therefore, the group with Holland remained the only one Ukraine could get into.
The match will take place in Amsterdam.
The Euro 2020 draw will be made in Bucharest on November 30, 2019.
Ukraine earlier played two friendly games against Holland. Ukraine lost 0-3 to Holland in Rotterdam in 2008 and played out a 1-1 draw in Donetsk in 2010.
