Ukraine Struck Tikhoretsk Oil Terminal in Krasnodar Region of russia: a fire broke out

03/15/2026

Explosions were heard in the Krasnodar region of Russia on the night of March 15 as the region was under attack by drones. Local authorities complained about “destroyed UAVs” that appeared to have hit the Tikhoretsk oil terminal again.

This is evidenced by a report from the Operational Headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory. A fire broke out on the territory of the oil depot, which was recorded by satellites.

What is known

Russian government officials announced the insidious “destroyed UAV fragments” that once again successfully landed on the territory of an important facility for the Russian Federation at around 4 a.m.

“In the suburb of Tikhoretsk, a fire broke out on the territory of an oil depot due to falling debris from a UAV. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. Operational and special services are working at the scene,” the statement said.

This time, ” UAV fragments” were also added to the “fragments”: they “chose” a smaller target for themselves – and left some residents of the Tikhoretskyi district without electricity.

“In the Tikhoretsk district, UAV fragments damaged two high-voltage lines. Emergency restoration work will begin after specialists complete the inspection of the territory,” local authorities said.

The Telegram channel Exilenova+ also writes about the probable repeated damage to the Tikhoretsk oil complex in the Krasnodar Territory. Satellite images of thermal signatures in the area of this facility, as well as footage of a fire glow, have appeared online.

The Russian Defense Ministry, meanwhile, boasted of the “destruction” of 170 Ukrainian drones that were flying, in particular, to the Kuban and Moscow.

The Tikhoretskaya oil transshipment terminal is part of Chornomortransneft OJSC and is one of the largest and most strategically important nodes of the Russian main oil pipeline system.

The main task of the Tikhoretsk oil hub is to receive, store and further pump oil coming from various regions towards export terminals on the Black Sea, primarily to the port of Novorossiysk,

The total volume of the tank farm is about 380 thousand cubic meters. The base is connected to railway tracks and automobile entrances, which makes it a multimodal transshipment hub. The Tikhoretsk oil depot is the intersection point of several major highways. Important sections of oil pipelines begin here, for example, the Tikhoretsk – Novorossiysk direction.

Such a “bold” target could not remain unnoticed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. On the night of March 12, aircraft were already flying over the facility – and then the Russians had to put out a fire at the oil depot for a long time.

As OBOZ.UA reported, in March, the Armavir oil depot in the Krasnodar Territory was on fire in Russia . The Defense Forces also struck the Maikop airfield in Adygea and the Afipsky refinery in the Krasnodar Territory.
