Ukrainian forces struck four Russian drone command posts across occupied Ukrainian territories and Russia’s Bryansk region, including a facility operated by Moscow’s Rubikon drone warfare unit in Berdiansk, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on November 8.
According to the General Staff, the strikes targeted Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Donetsk regions, as well as a command facility inside Russia.
The most significant reported strike took place in Russian-occupied Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region, where Ukrainian forces targeted a temporary deployment site and a UAV command post belonging to the Rubikon unit.
Rubikon is a specialized Russian military formation focused on drone warfare, including reconnaissance and strike operations. The unit has also been linked to drone attacks against civilians in frontline communities.
Additional strikes targeted Russian UAV command posts near Oleshky, on the temporarily occupied eastern bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, and near Bilytske in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian drone command facility near Aleksandrovskoye in the Bryansk region, extending the operation beyond temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
The General Staff said Russian personnel and equipment losses were still being assessed. It did not disclose the weapons used in the strikes or provide detailed damage assessments for each location.
The reported attacks targeted facilities responsible for coordinating Russian drone operations, a key component of battlefield reconnaissance, artillery targeting, and strikes against Ukrainian positions and supply routes.
Earlier, on October 14, Ukrainian forces struck a concentration of personnel from Russia’s elite Rubikon drone unit near Novokostiantynivka in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. The operation was part of a broader series of strikes targeting Russian drone storage, preparation, and launch facilities in occupied Ukrainian territories.
