On the night of August 20, Ukraine’s intelligence operators, together with the Defense Forces, struck several important military facilities in Russia, including two airfields from which attack drones were launched at Ukraine, according to the Defense Intelligence.

Strikes on airfields

On the night of August 20, as part of another deep-strike operation, HUR operators struck sites for storing and launching enemy drones at two airfields: in temporarily occupied Donetsk and in the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

According to intelligence, Russian forces had been regularly launching attack drones from these sites at civilian facilities in Ukraine. The strikes damaged ground elements of the systems and drone launchers, while fires broke out at the impact sites.

Destroyed radars

Also, during the attack on Primorsko-Akhtarsk, operators tracked down and struck two high-value enemy radar stations in the area of the airfield — the 55Zh6U Nebo-U and 55Zh6UM Niobiy.

Strike on oil terminal

That same night, HUR specialists, together with other components of the Security and Defense Forces, struck the Tamanneftegaz marine terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, which supplies the Russian occupation army.

The tank farm and elements of the main pipelines were damaged there, causing a large-scale fire at the facility.

The Defense Forces are systematically ramping up long-range strikes on military and fuel facilities deep inside Russia. In the first half of 2026 alone, Deep Strike assets hit 697 targets in Russia and knocked out a record 43% of the capacity of Russian oil refineries.

The strikes have paralyzed the operations of a number of Russian Black Sea ports through which Russia exports oil and grain.
