Ukraine and the Netherlands have signed a security agreement, which provides for military aid to our country already this year in the amount of 2 billion euros, as well as further support.
“Today, Mark Rutte and I signed a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and the Netherlands. The document provides for two billion euros in military aid from the Netherlands this year, as well as further defense assistance over the next ten years. The agreement also sets priorities for assistance in the field of air defense, artillery, naval and long-range means, with a special emphasis on strengthening the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy wrote in Telegram .
He also noted that the agreement formalizes the principled position of the Netherlands on strengthening sanctions against Russia, forcing it to compensate for damages and bring the aggressor to justice.
According to the document, the Netherlands also supports Ukraine’s future membership in the EU and NATO. The President thanked Prime Minister Rutte for this agreement, which will strengthen the defense of Ukraine, in particular Kharkiv, where the signing of this document took place today .
The Office of the President of Ukraine reported that a “military cabinet” was also held in Kharkiv with the participation of Rutte. He was informed about the critical needs of the Defense Forces in shells, anti-aircraft vehicles and armored vehicles. The needs of air defense forces for the defense of Kharkiv were discussed separately.
