Umerov called this step a sign of high confidence in Ukrainian manufacturers.
On Thursday, June 13, Ukraine signed a memorandum with Denmark regarding the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov announced this on his Facebook page. “This is a big step, as Denmark has become the first foreign NATO country that will invest its funds in the production of weapons on the territory of Ukraine,” the minister said.
In addition, a letter of intent was signed with the Netherlands: it should initiate cooperation between Kyiv and Amsterdam in support of the Ukrainian defense industry. It is noted that such investments indicate a high level of trust in Ukrainian manufacturers and their ability to manufacture high-quality military products.
Also, this once again demonstrates the readiness of the Ukrainian defense industry for international cooperation. “Thank you to Denmark and the Netherlands for this important support and mutual steps on the way to protect freedom and democracy,” added the Ukrainian minister.
Modern Western equipment will be produced in Ukraine
Earlier it became known that the German defense giant Rheinmetall is preparing to manufacture the newest Lynx infantry fighting vehicle on the territory of Ukraine . Production can begin already this year, and next year we can expect a “significant number” of such combat vehicles.
It was also reported that the first Rheinmetall machinery repair and production workshop was launched in Ukraine. This should speed up the restoration of combat vehicles, and in the future will provide an opportunity to manufacture new equipment by Ukrainian specialists.

Excellent.
But not just Denmark. Germany also and the UK’s BAE Systems signed a deal last August.
Hmm, I guess toise previous deals were about investments in Ukraine, while the new ones (not only with Denmark, also Netherlands) are about the purchase of Ukrainian weapons. Both ways of economic support are important developments that will strengthen Ukraine’s defence industry. 🙂
That’s good news for the Ukrainian defence industry. And there’s more:
“The Netherlands will financially support Ukrainian arms manufacturers”
