Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine produced 2.2 million FPV drones in 2024. This year, production is set to increase further.
During a press conference at the “Ukraine. Year 2025” forum, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine produced 2.2 million FPV drones in 2024 and plans to increase production this year. He also mentioned that in 2024, Ukraine manufactured 154 artillery systems and 100,000 long-range drones.
Zelenskyy noted that while the production of drones is significant, it does not replace U.S. assistance, though it complements it. He added that 30% of the funding for this production came from the U.S., 30% from European countries, and 40% from Ukraine itself. The president expressed hope that Ukraine’s contribution to the production this year will reach 50%.
- At the end of last year, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry launched the production of its own FPV drones based at a state-owned enterprise.

That 50% production capacity for military gear this year could be achieved with the help of Rheinmetall and other Western arms producers.
Things would be even better if all the adult males hiding in Europe would be expelled and sent back to Ukraine. If they are too cowardly to fight, then they can at least be useful for the industry, that means especially the arms industry. Power production and maintenance are also vital.
