Ukraine plans to build a bridge across the Dniester to Moldova by 2023, its expected cost is 3.4 billion hryvnias.
This was reported by Ukravtodor .
The tender for the design and construction of the bridge, which is to become the basis of a new highway between Kyiv and Chisinau , was announced at Prozorro . It will connect the Ukrainian road T-02-02 Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Yampil – Bershad – Uman and the Moldovan M-2.
The bridge will be built in the vicinity of the border settlements of Yampil (Ukraine) and Koseuts (Moldova).
The construction of the bridge across the Dniester near Yampol will be carried out according to the design-build model. This means that the contracting authority that wins the tender will be involved in both the design documentation and the construction work.
In addition to the bridge, it will be necessary to build 1.6 km of approach from Ukraine and 5 km from Moldova.
The works will be financed by the state budget of Ukraine.
We will remind that the bridge in Yampol instead of the ferry was announced by the previous power. Currently, the connection between Ukraine and Moldova across the Dniester River within the Vinnytsia region is provided by a single bridge, which is located in the area of the checkpoint “Mohyliv-Podilskyi – Otach”.

Ukraine’s move and opening towards the west are moving along relentlessly. In the meantime, the east is locked down. There is strict border security with fences, patrols, barbed wire, landmines, bunkers, observation and listening posts and much more. To the east lies mafia land … or Mordor, to some.
