“Ukraine opens drone exports”: Zelenskyy reveals details

February 8, 2026

Ukraine has officially begun exporting drones to Europe. Ten export centers are planned to open in the Baltic and Nordic countries by 2026

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this. He emphasized that all technologies and production lines are based on Ukrainian developments and specialists.

“Today we’re launching exports. By 2026, there will already be ten export centers in Europe. These include the Baltic states and the Nordic countries. Ten representative offices will be operating in 2026. In mid-February, we’ll see the production of our drones in Germany. I’ll receive the first drone. This is a working line. There are production lines operating in Britain. All of this is our Ukrainian technology,” the president said.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, drone production will begin in mid-February on a new line in Germany . The first prototype will be handed over to the president. Meanwhile, production lines are already operational in the UK.

In 2026, they plan to launch ten representative offices in Europe, covering the Baltic countries and Northern Europe.

"Ukraine opens drone exports": Zelenskyy reveals details

During a meeting with students and faculty at the Kyiv Aviation Institute, the head of state announced investments in Ukrainian technology.

“Next year, 2026, will be a year of investment in our technologies. Drones, first and foremost, and that’s aviation after all… It’s a major industry, a new industry for Ukraine. The drone industry is currently the largest industry for investment,” the president announced.

According to the president, exporting drones will not affect the supply of Ukrainian troops. The Ministry of Defense has determined the required volume of products, and the rest will be exported.

“What’s encouraging is that security in Europe today is based on our technologies and drones… All of this will be based largely on Ukrainian technologies and Ukrainian specialists,” Zelensky noted.

As a reminder, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi
held a monthly meeting on Saturday, February 7, to discuss the development of unmanned aerial systems , their combat missions, and the application of new technologies in this area. According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to retain a distinct advantage in the use of FPV drones.

OBOZ.UA also reported that following yet another large-scale Russian shelling,
Ukraine has stepped up sanctions on the aggressor country’s defense industry. The restrictions target companies without which drone and missile production would be impossible.

This is actually some very good news. There are numerous positive points about this. It’s a win-win situation for everyone (except for the roaches) it brings in money, and the advantages that technical cooperation will have on creating increasingly better and more drones, and Ukraine can rely on a steady supply of drones, regardless of the country’s own production rates.
