In April, Ukraine already tried to destroy the Kerch Bridge with a combined attack, but this attack was unsuccessful.

Under current conditions, Ukraine will not be able to destroy the Crimean bridge with Taurus cruise missiles, because the Russians are too well covered by air defense systems. This was stated by military expert, former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznyov for the YouTube channel “Fabriki Novyn” .

In particular, he was asked if Ukraine received Taurus cruise missiles from Germany, whether they would be able to destroy the Crimean bridge.

“Not anymore… If we had the Taurus in 2022, when the density of the air defense system in the Kerch Bridge area was somewhat lower, there would have been such a chance of success. But now such a multi-level, echeloned air defense system has been created there that there are few chances of overcoming it,” Seleznev believes.

At the same time, according to him, it is not a state secret that in April, Ukrainian forces attempted a large-scale attack on the Kerch Bridge with drones and ATACMS missiles, but this attack was unsuccessful.

“Even at the approach stage, the lion’s share of our assets was destroyed. Moreover, there was a combined attack then – from the air and from the water. Our (sea drones) SeaBaby and Magura also worked on this section of the Ukrainian-Russian front. The enemy spent too many resources and had too much time to do this for us to be able to implement this case now,” Seleznyov said.

At the same time, he said that this does not mean that the Defense Forces are abandoning the option of destroying this bridge. He is convinced that Ukrainian forces will try to destroy the bridge again, but information about the means by which this will be done will not be reported until the corresponding attack takes place. He considers it obvious that the Kerch Bridge is a priority target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the same time, Seleznev noted that today Crimea has turned into a new Chornobayvka for Russians.

“Because that’s where the ‘black hole’ for the Russian air and missile defense system is now. We automatically destroy their systems there. The enemy is pulling up new ones. We’re burning them down just the same. I think it’s just a matter of time before the Russian additional systems are exhausted, and only after that can we talk about finding the right key to that intricate lock that was created around the Kerch structure,” Seleznev is convinced.

“Taurus” for Ukraine

As UNIAN reported, the country’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz howled that Ukraine can count on the new German government regarding the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles . Merz is known for expressing support for the idea of ​​providing Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles during the election period.

Ukrainian military officer Stanislav “Osman” Bunyatov believes that it has become much more difficult to strike the Kerch Bridge than it was at the beginning of a full-scale invasion in 2022.

At the same time, Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Kryvonos, is convinced that launching expensive Taurus missiles, if Ukraine receives them from its allies, over the Crimean Bridge illegally built by Russia is not worth it, because it is economically unprofitable .

The Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Neizhpapa, believes that “there is no fortress that cannot be destroyed,” and the Crimean Bridge remains a priority target .
