He did not reveal numbers of injured or missing soldiers to prevent Russia from deducing troop numbers still in combat.
π Most casualty estimates are far higher than 31k, as they include factors like missing soldiers.
The 31k seems surprisingly low by comparison π€
It likely does not include Territorial Defense Forces,
Volunteer Brigades or Foreign Legion fighters.
π Zelensky also reported 180,000 Russian military πππππ‘π¬, with total Russian casualties, including the wounded, reaching up to half a million.
π‘ Official Ukraine counts over 400.000 russian soldiers ππ₯π’π¦π’π§ππππ, but that number doesn’t seem to differ between wounded and ππππ.
π Of course, these numbers are impossible to verify independently. Zelensky seems to use very conservative estimations of both Ukrainian AND Russian casualties – rather than overestimating enemy losses while underreporting their own, as Moscow does.

We can assume Ukraine has proportionally far more wounded.
Which is reflected in their hospitals being filled to the brim.

If you know this about Russia, these numbers make sense.
Ukraine values its people.
Russians lost half a million men,
Many of them ππ’ππ for nothing.
Others maimed and injured for life.
No one will remember them.
Ukraine lost 31k defenders who kept #Europe safe and ππ’ππ as heroes.
They will never be forgotten.
Every Ukrainian soldier lost is one too many.

For comparison: http://ualosses.org has confirmed over 42,000 Ukrainian soldiers that died since February 24, 2022.
While US intelligence is estimated to have the number of dead at 90-96k
βοΈ Yes, Zelensky is likely underestimating the real Ukraine losses here. But he applies the same logic, the same underestimation to russian losses.
That’s not bias. That’s keeping your methodology consistent.
