The United States informed Ukraine about three days ago about President Joe Biden’s decision to authorize the use of long-range weapons for strikes on Russian territory, Axios writes, citing a source.
“The source said that information about Biden’s decision was passed on to Ukraine about three days ago,” the publication writes.
The interlocutor also noted that the White House took this step to restrain the DPRK from sending additional troops to the war against Ukraine.
US officials hope that a defeat of North Korean troops in the Kursk region will force Pyongyang to reconsider its decision to send additional forces to the region. In that case, the Russian counterattack in the area will fail.
The Pentagon officially declined to comment on this information.
